PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which positioning accuracy of a light transmitting member and an optical element is improved. SOLUTION: When an optical module 1 is assembled, first, an optical element 2 is placed and fixed at a predetermined position in a chassis 4. A position of a holder 19 is then adjusted to position a transmitting member 18 with respect to the optical element 2, and the holder 19 is fixed to the chassis 4. As the holder 19 can be fixed to the chassis 4 after mounting the optical element 2 at a predetermined part within the chassis 4 as above described, positioning the optical transmitting member 18 with respect to the optical element 2 is easily performed, while the positioning accuracy can be improved.
