PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device of an engine for a vehicle capable of improving fuel economy by reducing the work load of a water pump circulating cooling water. SOLUTION: When the traveling speed of the vehicle detected by a vehicle speed sensor 52 is higher than a predetermined speed, the flow amount of the cooling water flowing in a bypass passage 41 is increased by opening a solenoid valve 42 installed in the bypass passage 41 to increase the flow of the cooling water fed to an engine 11. Since the work load of the water pump 13 is reduced when the circulation amount of the cooling water is reduced, and a load on the engine 11 which drives the water pump 13 is reduced, the fuel economy can be improved.
