PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inclined type engine capable of preventing interference of an exhaust pipe with surrounding parts. SOLUTION: In the inclined type engine, the exhaust pipe 7 is led out downward from a lower surface of an exhaust muffler 6, the exhaust pipe 7 is put on a left side position of a right end wall 8 of an exhaust muffler 6 under a first observation condition where a cylinder 3 is projected to obliquely right upper direction from a horizontal crank case in a view parallel with an engine output shaft 1 and the exhaust pipe 7 is put on a right side position of a left projection end 9 of the engine output shaft 1 under a second observation condition where the engine output shaft 1 is projected to the left direction from the horizontal crank case 2 in a view parallel with a direction perpendicular to the engine output shaft 1.
