PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary joint material capable of specially improving cut-off efficiency in a joint section of an external facing and a structure of the joint section of the external facing formed by making use thereof. SOLUTION: The auxiliary joint material is fitted into a gap between lower parts of both upper tongues 3a and 4a opposed to the adjoining external facings 3 and 4 in a wall surface 2 of a building, and comprises a joint material body 10 extended in the vertical direction of the wall surface 2, a primary lip 11 exposed to the gap between the upper tongues 3a and 4a while elastically adhering to the upper tongues 3a and 4a, secondary lips 12 and 13 formed by extending toward the exterior side of both sides of the joint material body 10 or the direction of the width of the primary lip 11 and elastically adhering to the upper tongues 3a and 4a, and an elastic leg section 14 that is formed in the back of the joint material body 10 and energizing the joint material body 10 so as to separate from the wall surface 2 of the building.
