<p>The method begins by detecting a prospective parking space, then determining the length and/or width of the parking space, and evaluating whether it is possible for the vehicle (1) to park into the same space based on the determined length/width. A quality factor, which is a function of the accuracy of the parking space length/width, the quality of the evaluation process, and other factors, such as vehicle speed, the presence of other obstacles e.g. other vehicles (3a,3b), curb (7), around the parking space, is formed. Both quality factor and evaluation result are shown to the driver. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a system for aiding vehicle driver into finding suitable parking space; and (2) a device or instrument for a motor vehicle.</p> |
