<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective type liquid crystal display device capable of operating in reflection mode and transmission mode, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A transflective type liquid crystal display device includes a substrate in which a pixel region P having a transmission region B and a reflection region D are defined. A transparent electrode 161 is formed on a first insulating layer between the drain electrode 137 and storage electrode C of a thin film transistor T. A storage electrode C is formed of the same substance in the same layer with a data line 139. A second insulating layer having a protrusion pattern is formed in the reflection region D. A reflective electrode 149 is formed on the second insulating layer in the reflection region D.
