PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof for simplifying a process. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: data lines which cross gate lines on a substrate to define pixel regions; an insulating film formed between the gate lines and data lines; thin film transistors which each include a gate electrode, a drain electrode, and a source electrode and are connected to the gate lines and data lines; a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the thin film transistors in the pixel regions; a plurality of common electrodes formed in the respective pixel regions substantially side by side with the pixel electrodes; a common line connected to the common electrodes; and a pad connected to at least one of the gate lines, data lines, and common line. A first pattern group comprising the gate lines, pixel electrodes, common electrodes, common line, and pad has a stepped multilayer conductive layer including a transparent conductive layer.
