PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an outer ring with a flange in an easy and inexpensive way. SOLUTION: The outer ring 10 for a constant velocity joint comprises splines 51, 52 provided on the inner periphery of a flange portion 13 and on the outer periphery of an outer ring body 11, respectively, the splines being fitted to each other to fix the flange portion 13 to the outer ring body 11. Thus, the flange portion has a higher degree of freedom in selecting a raw material than in welding and a simple device is needed, reducing cost. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
