PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a large package of polyester ultrafine multifilament yarn oriented by spinning and enabling drawing, combining and drawing and false twisting. SOLUTION: When producing a multifilament yarn having 0.2-0.5 dtex single yarn fineness,≥100 single yarn total numbers,≤75 dtex total fineness and 0.03-0.06 double refractive index by carrying out melt spinning of a polyester and taking off the spun yarn at a speed of 2,500-3,500 m/min by using a pair of godet rollers, surface velocity (V1) of a first godet roller and surface velocity (V2) of a second godet roller and winding velocity (Vw) of a winder and initial winding velocity (Vwf) to a winding tube are each set so as to simultaneously satisfy formula (1): 1.00≤V2/V1<1.10 and formula (2): 1.00≤Vw/Vwf<1.03.
