PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fine nickel particles having a sharp particle diameter distribution, and to provide electrically conductive paste using the nickel particles. SOLUTION: In the method for producing nickel particles, for obtaining nickel particles, a reaction liquid comprising a nickel salt and polyol is heated to a reduction temperature so as to reduce the nickel salt in the reaction liquid, in a stage before the reaction liquid is heated so as to reach the above reduction temperature, carboxyl group and/or amino group-containing carboxylic acids or amines, and a noble metal catalyst are incorporated into the reaction liquid. By using the production method, nickel particles having the imaging analysis average particle diameter of 1 to 300 nm can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
