PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activation method for remarkably increasing enzymatic activity ofα-amylase in a powdery detergent composition and to provide the powdery detergent composition containingα-amylase in which the activation method is taken. SOLUTION: The powdery detergent composition comprises (a) a surfactant, (b) a hydrogen peroxide adduct, (c)α-amylase and (d) vitamin E, flavonoid or carotenoid. In the detergent composition, the content of the component (a) is 10-50 mass% and the content of the component (b) is 0.1-40 mass% and the content of the component (c) is 0.001-1 mass% and the content of the component (d) is 0.01-5 mass ppm.
