Disclosed is a device for triggering an electromagnetic actuator and a method for testing the inductor of an electromagnetic actuator. According to the invention, the inductor is connected to a test circuit in such a way that a resonant circuit is created. An evaluation circuit is provided which evaluates at least one electrical parameter of said resonant circuit in order to determine whether the inductance lies within predetermined tolerances.
