Use of substance containing collagen for coating material containing fibers, preferably drawing fur, bagasse fiber, abaca fiber, coconut fiber, sisal fiber, flax fiber, hemp fiber, palmoil fiber, cotton fiber, recycling paper and/or cellulose. Independent claims are included for: (1) a crockery, preferably dishware or package, which is coated with the substance; and (2) a method for the preparation of an article from the coated material comprising applying a coating containing the substance on a material plate.
