A mobile communication terminal having a virtual keyboard input device and an input method using the same are provided to enable a virtual keyboard to be used together with a keypad of the mobile communication terminal by supplying an expanded input method by outputting the virtual keyboard from an optical device, and directly control the terminal by providing a portable, wide, and large full keyboard, thereby reducing the volume of the device. An input method of a mobile communication terminal having a virtual keyboard function comprises the following steps of: outputting a holographic keyboard frame image using an infrared laser(S302); generating a signal by sensing an angle and movement of hands placed on the keyboard frame, and inputting the signal(S303,S304,S305); detecting corresponding key data from a keyboard data table mapped with the input signal(S306); and displaying a result screen by the key data(S309).
