An EU-1 zeolite capable of obtaining products with a low pour point and oils with a high viscosity index in high yields, and a process for improving the pour point of a feed comprising paraffins containing 10 or more carbon atoms by using the EU-1 zeolite are provided. A modified EU-1 zeolite contains silicon and an element T selected from the group consisting of Al, Fe, Ga and B, wherein at least a portion of elements T are removed, the total atomic ratio Si/T of the modified zeolite is higher than an atomic ratio of a starting zeolite, and the difference of the total atomic ratio Si/T of the modified zeolite and the atomic ratio of the starting zeolite is at least 10% of an Si/T ratio of the starting zeolite. The Si/T is 20 or more. The Si/T is 60 or more. The Si/T is 600 or less. The Si/T is 300 or less. The T is aluminum(Al). A process for preparing a zeolite comprises: subjecting an EU-1 zeolite obtained by synthesis to heat treatment one or more times; and treating the heat-treated EU-1 zeolite with a chemical dealuminating compound such as ammonium hexafluorosilicate, silicon tetrachloride or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and a sodium or disodium form thereof one or more times to dealuminate the EU-1 zeolite.
