A method for processing an input signal in an image display apparatus is provided to recognize that a specific key value of an input device is continuously inputted due to failure of the input device of the image display device, jump the specific key value to process the signal, and display the failure so that a user can recognize the failure, thereby quickly coping with the failure. A method for processing an input signal in an image display apparatus comprises the following steps of: receiving the input signal from an input device of the image display apparatus(S10); determining whether the input signal of a specific key of the input device is continuously inputted(S20); if so, jumping a corresponding specific key value to process the signal(S30); and displaying a failure state by using a screen or sound so that a user can recognize the failure state of the input device(S40).
