A printing system and a printing method are provided in which a user can select the optimal method to output photographed image data when the user outputs input image data using a printing system or the like.

When the photographed image data is input by the user to print the image data on which the user intends to perform printing processing, suitable printing sizes are computed with respect to the image data selected by the user among the input image data; a plurality of printing sizes including those suitable printing sizes are displayed on an operation screen; image data to be printed is generated based on the printing size selected from the plurality of printing sizes; and this image data to be printed is transmitted to a printing device which performs printing processing.
