<p>A MEID-applied apparatus in a mobile communication network and a method thereof are provided to make smooth conversion into an MEID possible with only simple software modification of a call processing method without modification of a mobile communication network itself when converting an ESN of 32bit into an MEID of 56bit, thereby minimizing a loss of time required for application of a new MEID, workers, and costs. A MEID(Mobile Equipment Identifier)-applied apparatus in a mobile communication network comprises the followings: an MEID-applied MS(Mobile Station)(100) which receives an ESPM(Extended System Parameter Message) message and checks a P_REV(Protocol_Revision) value included in the ESPM message in case of an originating call or a receiving call, and transmits a virtual ESN(Electronic Serial Number) through an ORM(Origination Message) or a PRM(Page Response Message) when the P_REV value is less than 10, and transmits an MEID through the ORM or the PRM when the P_REV value is more than 11; and a BTS(Base Transceiver Station)(200) which transmits the ESPM message including the P_REV value to the MEID-applied MS(100) in case of the originating call or the receiving call, and transmits a setup message to an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(300) through the virtual ESN or MEID, included in the ORM or the PRM, if receiving the ORM or PRM from the MEID-applied MS(100) in order to apply to generation of a long code mask.</p> |
