A digital zooming apparatus and a method thereof are provided to adjust the size of an image sensed by a sensor based on a zooming factor set by users, the preset size of an output image and the maximum storage capacity of a storage module, thereby satisfying both of image quality and memory costs, reducing the size of a memory necessary for the digital zooming apparatus, and preventing loss of image data. A digital zooming apparatus(10) comprises the followings: an adjusting module(14) which is connected to a sensor(12), receives a sensed image and adjusts the sensed image according to a zooming factor to produce an adjusted image; the first image-processing module(16) which is connected to the adjusting module(14), and processes the adjusted image based on the first and second predetermined conditions to produce the first image; a storage module(18) which is connected to the first image-processing module(16) and is used for storing the first image; and the second image-processing module(20) which is connected to the storage module(18), receives the first image and processes the first image according to the second predetermined condition to produce the second image.
