<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the long-term reliability of a physical quantity sensor, etc., which has an FBG (optical fiber Bragg diffraction grating) fitted to a strain generating member by stabilizing the precision and performance. <P>SOLUTION: Optical fibers 12 on both the sides of the FBG 10 are coated with metal 18. The optical fibers 12 on both the sides of the FBG 10 are sheathed with metal pipes 26. The metal coatings 18 are fixed to the metal pipes 26 by soldering 20 respectively. The metal pipes 26 are fixed to metal pedestals 34 by welding 24A respectively. The metal pedestals 34 are fixed to the strain generating member 14 by welding 24B.
