The device has front and rear lateral ultrasound sensors (5a, 5b) to detect a lateral obstacle e.g. wall, located on the trajectory of a lateral sliding door (2) of a motor vehicle in a lateral zone adjacent to the door. Longitudinal sensors detect a longitudinal obstacle located on the trajectory of the door in a longitudinal zone adjacent to the door. The ultrasound and longitudinal sensors send a signal to an electronic management case when an obstacle stops or prevents any action of a motor on the door. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for managing proximate sensors interfering in a lateral sliding door motorized actuation device; and (2) a motor vehicle comprising a lateral sliding door and a lateral sliding door motorized actuation device.
