A handover method in a wireless network is provided to ensure reliable packet transmission by enabling an AR(Access Router) of a region where an MN(Mobile Node) is located to temporally store a packet which can be possibly lost during handover in a buffer. An MN(410) obtains a CoA(Care of Address) from a router in which the MN(410) is located. The MN(410) registers the obtained CoA to a CN(Correspondent Node) and a MAP(Mobility Anchor Point). The MAP(430) checks whether a packet is transmitted from the CN to the MN(410). When a packet is transmitted from the CN to the MN, the MAP(430) takes the corresponding packet and converts a destination address of the packet into the CoA of the MN(410). The router linked to the MN(410) routes the packet to the MN(410).
