In a four-wheel drive motor vehicle with a primary drive axle (5, 6; 23, 24; 45, 46) and a secondary drive axle (11, 12; 26, 27; 51, 52), at least one secondary drive axle coupling (13; 30; 53; 61, 62) of the limited slip type is provided in the powertrain between the engine (3; 20; 40) of the vehicle and the secondary drive axle.
