A portable radiation imaging apparatus is provided to enhance a reliability of position-fitting accuracy and realize a light weight and a proper size of device without increasing a valid imaging area of an imaging unit. In a portable radiation imaging apparatus, a sensor(25) including an element of transforming a radiation into an electric signal has a valid imaging area. A case(22) accommodates the sensor(25) inside. A part, aligned with the valid imaging area, is placed on an upper surface of the case to display a target imaging area having a similar shape with the valid imaging area. An off-set between a subject and an imaging unit is recognized by sensing a boundary of the valid imaging area to touch the above part while an operator aligns the imaging unit and fits a position thereof with respect to the subject and a radiation source.
