摘要 A closed loop drying apparatus 10 comprises at least one drying chamber 24, a closable opening 12, at least one fan 14 for circulating a drying gas, at least one dehumidifying unit 18 located within the drying chamber 24, at least one heat exchanger 20 located external to the drying chamber 24 and a control unit for managing the circulation of the drying gas. Each dehumidifying unit 18 may comprise an expansion chamber 26, a compressor and a heat exchanger 30. The drying apparatus 10 may contain Freon as a refrigerant. There may be provided ducting 32 in which the fan 14 is mounted. The closable opening 12 may be sealable. There may be a trap 62 provided in the drying chamber 24 for the removal of condensate. The drying chamber 24 may have exit and entry ports provided for diverting a portion of the drying gas from the chamber 24 to a scrubber 40 and back by means of a pump. In the case of a plurality of drying chambers 24 each chamber 24 may operate independently. The apparatus 10 may be a mobile unit. Energy recovered from drying process may be directed to the heat exchanger 30 of the dehumidifying unit 18 to heat the drying gas.
