A fan operation monitoring system and a method thereof are provided to maximize an operating efficiency of a device by preventing a faulty operation of a fan in advance. A method for monitoring a fan operation includes the steps of: setting a reference range; disconnecting a power line between a fan(10) and a power unit(20) and detecting current quantity from the two power lines; transforming the detected current quantity into a voltage; and comparing the voltage with the set reference range.
