MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SLOTTED-MODE

A mobile communication terminal and a method for controlling a slot mode of the same are provided to continue to maintain an awake mode by changing a slot cycle index to zero at an operation which needs an external communication like bank-on such that a communication with an external device is normally realized. A method for controlling a slot mode of a mobile communication terminal comprises the following several steps. A controller checks whether a user inputs a bank-on activating instruction via a key operation in an idle state(S301). If so, the controller changes a slot cycle index to zero, and transmits the changed slot cycle index data to a base station(S303). The controller activates a bank-on operation and processes a banking task in an activated bank-on operation mode(S305). If the user inputs a bank-on terminating instruction, the controller changes the slot cycle index to zero and transmits the changed slot cycle index data to the base station(S307,S309). Then, the controller terminates the bank-on operation according to the bank-on terminating instruction(S311).
