A light scanning apparatus and a method thereof are provided to simplify plural control signals inputted into a quad beam scanning apparatus used in an image forming apparatus, thereby facilitating standardization for an interface between components within the image forming apparatus, and miniaturizing a connector for signal connection and accordingly providing a compact quad beam scanning apparatus. A light scanning apparatus comprises the followings: the second S&H(Sample and Hold) signal generator(300) for generating the first plurality of the second S&H signals by using the first S&H signal provided from a controller(320), wherein the second S&H signals comprises a sampling interval and a holding interval; a light output unit(340) for outputting the first plurality of lights; and the light output controller(320) which controls the light output unit(340) so as to respectively output the first plurality of lights for each sampling interval of the plurality of second S&H signals, and sets a control signal value for controlling intensities of the lights which will be maintained for the holding intervals of the plurality of second S&H signals on the basis of the intensities of the outputted lights.
