<p>The method involves producing a magnetic circuit (7) which is not directly connected to a voltage reference (14), so that the circuit`s electric potential is an image of an average voltage of a secondary winding (6) of a coil (3). The variation range of the electric potential is limited between predetermined minimum and maximum limit values. The polarity of the electric potential corresponding to the appearance of an ignition spark on a determined spark plug is detected for delivering a signal indicating whether a cylinder is in ignition phase. An independent claim is also included for a four cylinder internal combustion engine`s cylinder ignition phase detecting device.</p> |
