<p>A system and method of synchronizing two end terminals using beacon synchronizationin a wireless local area network are disclosed. In one embodiment, the methodcompris es i) communicating with a first terminal via first and second channelsand communicating with a second terminal via the first and second channels , ii)transmitting a first series of beacon frame s (B , B21 , B31,..., Bil ,..., and Bnl) and a second series of beacon frames (B12, B22 , B32,..., Bi2 ,..., andBn2 ) over the first and second channels, respectively , iii) obtainingbeacon intervals (bil , b i2), wherein bil representsthe beacon interval between the i beacon frame (Bil) and the (i+l)thbeacon frame (B(l+1) 1) for the first series of beacon frames and bi2represents the beacon interval between the ith beacon frame (Bi2)and the (i+l)th beacon frame (B(i+l)2) for the second seriesof beacon frames, iv) calculating the beacon interval offset value ( D b 1 = lb11- b1 2 1 ) and v) setting & the interval between the beac on frames ( B(i+l)land ( B(i+2)l) in the first channel, and the interval between the beaconframes ( B(i+l)2 and ( B(i+2)2) in the second channel, basedon the calculated offset value ( D bi ) so as to perform beacon synchronization .</p> |
