METHOD OF PRODUCING A COMPOSITE WEB

A molten strand of a thermoplastic synthetic resin from a wide-slit nozzle is electrostatically charged before it contacts a fleece of thermoplastic filament and/or fibers, the latter passes onto a drum or roller at a temperature below the~ melting temperature of the filaments and/or fibers so that the electrostatic forces cause bonding of the foil to the fleece, thereby forming a composite web. Because of the electrostatic forces, pressing of the composite, e.g. with a calender, is not necessary.
