A plasma display device and a method and an apparatus for driving the same are provided to reduce reactive power consumption of the plasma display device by using transistors with low breakdown voltages in a scan discharge driving circuit. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,100), a controller(200), an address electrode driver(300), a scan electrode driver(400), and a sustain electrode driver(500). The plasma display panel includes plural A electrodes, plural X electrodes, and plural Y electrodes. The controller receives an external image signal and outputs Y, X, and A electrode driving control signals. The controller divides one frame into plural sub-fields, where each of the sub-fields includes an address period and a sustain period. The address electrode driver receives the A electrode driving control signal from the controller and applies a display data signal for selecting discharge cells to the A electrodes. The scan electrode driver receives the X electrode driving control signal from the controller and applies a driving voltage to the X electrodes. The sustain electrode driver receives the Y electrode driving control signal from the controller and applies the Y electrode driving control signal to the Y electrodes.
