A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to suppress a surge current and a stress applied on a switch by turning on the switch after the voltage of a panel capacitor is adjusted to the level of a source voltage or a ground voltage. A first transistor(Ys) is connected between a first voltage source(Vs) and plural first electrodes. The first voltage source supplies a first voltage. A second transistor(Yg) is connected between a second voltage source and the first electrodes. The second voltage source supplies a second voltage, which is lower than the first voltage. A first terminal of at least one inductor(L) is connected to the first electrodes. A fourth voltage source is connected between a cathode and an anode of the third voltage source and supplies a fourth voltage, which is higher than the third voltage. A third transistor(Yr) is connected between a second terminal of one of the inductors and the fourth voltage source. A fifth voltage source is connected between the anode and cathode of the third voltage source and supplies a fifth voltage, which is lower than the third voltage. A fourth transistor(Yf) is connected between a second terminal of one of the inductors and the fifth voltage source.
