A vertical-type looping apparatus for sensing and correcting strip obliqueness is provided to improve the correcting efficiency of the moving plate and prevent the strip from being deformed by placing the proximity sensor, the control part, and the correcting driving part while the apparatus is normally driven. A vertical-type looping apparatus for sensing and correcting strip obliqueness is composed of plural upper moving rollers(11) mounted at a moving plate(34) installed in a frame(31); plural lower fixing rollers(12) fixed in the frame; a crane part(40); a horizontal sensing part(50) installed at the center of the moving plate to sense the horizontal status of the moving plate; and a correcting unit(60) mounted at the frame to correct the position of the moving plate according to the signal of the horizontal sensing part. The horizontal sensing part contains first and second proximity sensors(S1,S2) fixed at a casing, and a leveler corresponding to the first and second proximity sensors. The correcting unit contains a control part(62) electrically connected to the first and second proximity sensors, a correcting driving part(61) whose driving is control by the control part, and a correcting wire(63) wound at one of two rollers(41,42).
