A home monitoring system is provided to establish a home theater system and a network quad switcher system into a single system to be conveniently controlled by a remote controller, thereby realizing safety- and security-relating circumstances while watching or listening to TV/Radio/DVD at home. A home monitoring system includes a photographing unit(300) to take photographs of an area under monitoring and generate image signals. A monitor(100) displays images corresponding to the received image signals and receives signals from a remote controller(150). A home monitoring center(200) has a network quad switcher(270). The network quad switcher receives image signals from image display units such as a TV(240), a DVD(250) or radio tuner(260) and the photographing unit to transmit the same to the monitor. The home monitoring center receives the remote controller signals from the monitor and transmits the same to either the image display units or the network quad switcher.
