A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to facilitate a sustain discharge during a sustain period by minimizing the time interval between address and sustain periods. Driving boards, which are used for driving a plasma display device, are formed on a chassis base(20). An address buffer board(100) is formed on one of upper and lower portions of the chassis base. The address buffer board receives an address driving control signal from an image processing/control board(400) and applies voltages for selecting discharge cells to respective address electrodes. A scan driving board(200) is arranged on the left side of the chassis base. The scan driving board is electrically connected to scan electrodes via a scan buffer board(300). The image processing/control board receives an image signal from the outside, generates a control signal for driving address, scan, and sustain electrodes, and applies the control signal to the address driving board and the scan driving board.
