An electric connector and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to simplify connection work for a cable and improve connection reliability for the cable while reducing a space for mounting the connector. An electric connector includes a plug element(1) fitted in a socket body in a first direction, and a cable(7) having a plurality of core conductors aligned in the second direction and coated with an insulation material. A presser(30) has a first part extended in the first direction. The plug element has a plug body(10) formed with a groove extended in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, a plurality of plug contacts(20) having first and second contact pieces facing each other with a clearance therebetween and disposed in the groove in the second direction, and a plurality of first protrusions having slant surfaces extended from the first contact piece with thickness gradually decreasing toward ends thereof.
