A gear protection device of a gear-type stepping motor is provided to facilitate a process by inserting and fixing a medium into a small diameter portion of an output shaft so as to give elasticity to a spring washer assembled with an output gear. A gear protection device includes an output shaft(250) having a stepped surface(251), an output gear(24) inserted into a small diameter portion(252) of the output shaft, a clutch washer(27) interposed between a non-formed portion of the output gear and the output shaft, and a spring washer(26) seated on a formed portion of the output gear. The spring washer is pressed by a pressure member at an end of the small diameter portion. The pressure unit consists of a locking boss(254) formed on the end of the small diameter and a medium interposed between the locking boss and the spring washer.
