An apparatus for analyzing a body composition capable of outputting comparison data on a display and a method therefor are provided to enable an examinee to recognize the body composition at once by outputting a current body composition analysis result and a previous body composition analysis result on the display at the same time. An apparatus for analyzing a body composition capable of outputting comparison data on a display includes a storage unit(480), an authorized control unit(470), and a comparison display generation unit(490). The storage unit(480) stores a previous body composition analysis result of an examinee. The authorized control unit(470) performs an authorization of the examinee. The authorized control unit(470) reads and outputs the previous data of the examinee corresponding to the current body composition analysis result from the storage unit(480). The comparison display generation unit(490) generates a comparison display from the current and previous body composition analysis results, and outputs the generated comparison display to an output unit.
