The system has bearer rails for modular interconnection and a current conducting profile with grooves for electrical supply and/or control signal transmission wires and consisting of at least two joined wire holding elements with grooves for accommodating the wires. When the elements are joined they overlap with protrusions at the ends so as to form channels in the connecting region corresponding to the grooves and open to the contact side. The system has bearer rails for modular interconnection and a current conducting profile on at least one inner side wall with grooves for electrical supply and/or control signal transmission wires. The current conducting profile consists of at least two wire holding elements (10) joined together with grooves (11) for accommodating the wires (6). When the elements are joined they overlap with protrusions at the ends so as to form channels in the connecting region corresponding to the grooves and open to the contact side.
