The unit (1) includes a forming shoulder (5) which converts a flat web of film (3) into a curved web (7) with a reduced width, forming blocks (9) which form spaced apart rectilinear protrusions in the flat web, a roll (11) for flattening the film again so that it has overlapping sections (13) with a defined width, and a unit (17, 19) for sealing together the overlapping sections on the inner side of the film. Guide plates (15) between the forming blocks and roll are used to supply the folded film to the desired width position on the roll. |
