The proposed method for determining the concentration of substance in solution by the absorption of the monochromatic optical radiation by the solution consists in passing monochromatic radiation flux with a specified intensity and wavelength trough a cuvette that is alternately filled with reference solution, with the known concentrations (C1, C2) of the substance, and the controlled solution, with an unknown concentration (C) of the substance, and through the same cuvette without the solution, converting the radiation flux intensity into voltage, storing the voltage values, and determining the concentration of the substance by a specified equation. The reference solutions with the substance concentrations of C1 and C2 are prepared so that the half-difference of the concentrations ?C = (C1 - C2)/2 corresponds to the condition ?C ? (3 ...5)?, where ? is the standard measurement error at a confidence probability of 0.95. The proposed method provides a possibility to extend the range of concentrations of controlled substance and increase the measurement accuracy due to that the logarithmic function used for converting optical radiation intensity into voltage is approximated by a cubic function.
