METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEARCHING INFORMATION USING AUTOMATIC QUERY CREATION

A method and a device for searching information with automatic query extraction are provided to automatically extract an unrecognized subject term related to a subject by automatically abstracting documents and extracting keywords based on a search result obtained after the user performs search with a specific query. A query searching module(82) performs the search and outputs the search result if the user inputs the desired query through a search engine. An automatic result abstracting module(84) automatically abstracts the result documents by extracting sentences having core meaning from the searched documents, extracts core sentences from the abstracted documents, and makes the document for each core sentence. A clustering module(86) removes the duplicated sentences by grouping the documents having contents similar and calculates the weight of each word to extract the subject term for each cluster. A new query extracting module(88) extracts more than one new query based on weight and outputs the searched result of each query by making the query searching module perform secondary search with the new query.
