A cylinder head (10), having at least one inlet duct (14) with a part (22) that is divided by a partition (26) into upper (22a) and lower (22b) parallel sections, has the partition made from the same material as the cylinder head during the casting process. During casting a molding core forms the inlet duct while a transverse slot in the core is filled with the molten metal to form the partition.
