A plasma display panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve address discharge efficiency by lowering an address discharge voltage and increasing an address discharge margin. A first and second substrates(100,200) are opposite to each other in order to form a discharge space therebetween. The discharge space is formed with a plurality of discharge space parts(300). A barrier rib part(111) is formed on one or more substrates of the first and second substrates in order to define the discharge space. The barrier rib part includes an electrode reception groove(212) which is formed in a vertical direction of the first and second substrates. A phosphor layer(400) is formed within the discharge space. A plurality of electrodes(510,520,530) are formed between the first and second substrates. A part of the electrodes is formed in the electrode reception groove.
