摘要 An Enterobacteriacae genus microorganism containing gene relating to L-carnitine biosynthesis derived from Neurospora crassa is provided to be able to produce L-carnitine with high yield, thereby being used for producing the L-carnitine. The Enterobacteriacae genus microorganism comprises a polynucleotide coding S-adenosylmethionine-6-N-lysine-methyltransferase activity derived from Neurospora crassa, a polynucleotide coding 6-N-trimethyllysine hydroxylase activity, a polynucleotide coding 3-hydroxy-6-N-trimethyllysine aldolase activity, a polynucleotide coding gamma-trimethylaminoaldehyde dehydrogenase activity, and a polynucleotide coding gamma-butylobetaine hydroxylase activity. The method for producing L-carnitine comprises a step of culturing the Enterobacteriacae genus microorganism in the presence of substrate selected from the group consisting of L-lysine, epsi-N-trimethyllysine, beta-hydroxy-N-trimethyllysine, gamma-N-trimethylaminobutyraldehyde, gamma-butyrobetaine and a mixture thereof to produce the L-carnitine in the culture material.
