<p>An apparatus and a method for sharing a TCXO of a mobile terminal by using a GPS are provided to reduce the deterioration of performance of receiving a GPS signal which is generated by the necessity to limit GPS operations or alternatively operate an AFC(Automatic Frequency Control) operation of a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) baseband among GPS operations when a GPS processor and a CDMA processor respectively use the TCXO or share the TCXO, thereby miniaturizing size of the terminal. An apparatus for sharing a TCXO(Temperature Compensated Crystal(XTAL) Oscillator)(203) of a mobile terminal for a GPS(Global Positioning System) comprises the followings: a communication system processor(201) which processes a mobile communication system, calculates the amount of variation of a frequency caused by a frequency change, and outputs the calculated value corresponding to the calculated frequency variation amount to the system TCXO(203) and a GPS processor(202); and the GPS processor(202) which receives a GPS signal, executes processing corresponding to the received signal, receives the calculated value corresponding to the frequency variation amount from the communication system processor(201), executes an operation for frequency compensation according to the operated value, and compensates the frequency by using a result of the operation.</p> |
