#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves interrogating an electrical heating appliance through a bidirectional infrared remote control module, and receiving the response of the appliance through the module. The response is displayed by the module, and a configuration is programmed on the module. The configuration is transmitted in bidirectional manner towards the appliance by the module. The verification of the configuration of the appliance is interrogated by the module, and the configuration is displayed. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a heating appliance for implementing a heating control method; and (2) a bidirectional infrared remote control module for implementing a heating control method. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for controlling an electrical heating appliance (claimed) e.g. convector, radiator, towel warmer, air-conditioner and boiler, in a bathroom. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The verification of the programmed configuration, transmitted in bidirectional manner, of the heating appliance is interrogated by the bidirectional infrared remote control module, and the configuration is displayed, thus permitting programming and remote control of any type of heating appliance. The method allows a user to ascertain the configuration of the appliance by simple pointing the controller towards it. The method allows only a single control device to be used for a set of heating appliances which can be separately configured. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a flowchart of a heating control method. 100 : remote control in standby state, screen blank 101 : remote control displays ambient temperature, 60 second time window to actuate any key 102 : interrogation of pointed-at appliance 103 : display of configuration received from interrogated appliance 104 : indication of failure in communication, or finding an appliance 105 : display of desired configuration 106 : transmission of new configuration to appliance 107 : further interrogation to verify configuration.
|
