<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide material for a magnetic head slider capable of reducing the level difference of an air bearing face and having sufficient strength, a magnetic head slider using the same, and a manufacturing method of material for the magnetic head slider. <P>SOLUTION: The material for the magnetic head slider comprises a sintered compact 1 including alumina 110 and titanium carbide 120, wherein, ratio of an area occupied by alumina crystal grains 110 and titanium carbide crystal grains 120 of which the crystal grain diameter is 200nm to 350 nm to an area occupied by alumina crystal grains 110 and titanium carbide crystal grains 120 in a cross section of the sintered compact 1 is 80% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
