PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present map information appropriate for using conditions either as an in-car or portable device. SOLUTION: When a switching operation to an in-car mode or to a portable mode is made by a control unit 5, a working mode switching part 7 switches a drawing part 10 to the in-car or portable mode. The drawing part 10 uses map data stored in a map memory 4 based on a current position detected by a GPS receiving part 2 and corrected by a map matching part 8 to draw a map image containing the current position including map information of traffic control for vehicles when in the in-car mode together with a current position mark, or the map image containing the current position together with the current position mark without the map information of traffic control when in the portable mode.
